Well, Niazi, war deaths in e.g. Afghanistan are not numerous enough to be visible in national statistics. Hardly even in Afghanistan, sure not in the USA. A country with a particularly risky age structure is IRAN. During the war with Iraq in the 1980's enormously many children were born in Iran. This was officially encouraged policy. The total population doubled in a generation after the Khomeini revolution. This was too much even for an oil exporting country. The Ayatollahs put brakes on, prevention and attached education became free and in many cases obligatory. As a result the number of births plummeted. Just now we have particularly many young people in Iran in ages suitable for soldiers. But there is no war - though Iranian politicians seem to play with the risk to become attacked because of the nuclear program. In a longer run Iran will have two huge problems: the easily exportable oil will run out, though there are lots and lots of the more problematic gas. And then there are not enough young people to take care of the increasing numbers of ageing part of teh population. Afghanistan has very rapid population growth now. Some day there must be brakes there, too. You simply cannot feed properly very large population with the present sort of economy. Afghanistan is no Netherlands.
